The proper way to play nfl teasers

If you know how to properly bet teasers then they can be a fun and profitable way to get some action on the NFL. If you’re not using them properly, however, you might as well just put your money in a big pile and burn it. The result will be the same and it won’t take up as much of your time or cause you as much frustration. By their structure, teasers give bookmakers a significant edge (much bigger than on a regular bet). In order to take advantage, then, you have to both identify that edge and find ways to overcome it.

A teaser is a bet in which you take two or more teams and add a set amount of points to the lines of each team. In the NFL the most common teaser is six points, and 6.5 and seven point teasers are also standard. Say you liked Dallas, which was favored by eight, and Minnesota, which was a three-point underdog. On a teaser ticket, the lines would become Dallas -2 and Minnesota +9. In order for you to win the bet both of those results would have to occur. A push in either game would result in a void ticket and a returned bet. Because of the greatly advantageous spreads, you obviously get a much lower payout than you would betting the teams in a parlay at their full spread.

Teasers give the bookmakers such an edge because of the difficulty of hitting them often enough to make a profit. If you shop around you can find two-team, six-point teasers that pay out at even money. Even at that generous level of remuneration you still have to be correct in choosing the winners by the adjusted spread in 70.7 percent of games to break even over the long run (.707 x .707 = .5 – If you are right on the individual games 70.7 percent of the time then you will be right on both games half of the time). Teasing a random sample of NFL games by six points doesn’t provide accuracy at that level – favorites don’t either cover or fail to cover by less than six points more than 70.7 percent of the time - so the expectation over the long term is for a loss. It gets even worse for seven point teasers. Though more games will be covered by the larger change to the spread, bookmakers charge a higher price for the bets, so the expectations of loss can be even higher.

In order to profit on betting teasers, then, you would have to find a situation that allowed you to pick more than 71 percent winners over the long term. One such commonly known situation is called a basic strategy teaser, or a Wong teaser. These are teasers that move the spread across two key numbers – the three and the seven. For example, a spread of -8.5 is teased to -2.5, meaning the favorite now covers the spread if they win by either a field goal or a touchdown, two of the most common margins of victory. You lose your advantage if the spread is teased right to one of those two key numbers, because that would make a push more likely, voiding your ticket. Playable spreads for this type of teaser, then, are from -7.5 to -8.5 and +1.5 to +2.5. Historical data shows that playing teasers that fit these requirements is profitable over the long term, though a large bankroll is required, because fluctuations can be extreme.

If teasing a spread to cover two key numbers in that case makes sense, then does it make sense to tease a spread to cover both 3’s? You could tease a spread of -3.5 or -3 to be +3.5, thereby covering the most common key number regardless of which team wins by three. The simple answer is no. Over the long term, your expectation for this bet would not be positive. The main reason for that is not because of the key numbers, but because of the numbers that fall in between. When you tease over the three and the seven, you also win games that are decided by scores between those two numbers – four, five and six points. Those outcomes aren’t as common as three or seven, but they still occur fairly frequently, adding to the number of bets that are correct. Between the two threes, on the other hand, you have two and one, neither of which are as common as four or six, and zero, which virtually never occurs. When you buy a teaser you are essentially buying more numbers that the score can land on. When you tease from -3 then you are just buying a bunch of junk. The other problem you face, as well, is that you need at least 6.5 points to properly tease -3, which makes the bet more expensive.

As with any type of bet, the fact that a bet isn’t advantageous over the long run doesn’t mean that it can’t make sense in a specific circumstance. For example, a teaser could make sense if you are confident that two teams are both going to win the game straight up, but if a parlay of their morning lines doesn’t pay out what a teaser would. A teaser could also be used to take advantage of a group of lines that you sense are soft. As long as you understand the bet, and know its limitations, then the teaser can be a powerful tool.

Beat the deal or no deal banker

Are you a Deal or No Deal Fanatic? Do you love to yell at the television offering your advice to the contestant when he deals with the banker? It is a suspenseful and anxious few moments when the show host calls the mysterious banker for the offer to which the contestant must decide to answer 'Deal' or "No deal".

There are a few general tips you can use to help you decide what type of armchair advice to offer the contestant. When it is early in the game, the banker has more leeway and less risk, so he may make more generous offers. But there is actually a financial principal which helps you decide if an offer is good or bad.

This principal is called 'expected value' and it lets you assign value to something now even though the future is uncertain.

In the instance of Deal or No Deal, the idea is to determine what the expected value is of the case the contestant selected.

First, you must ascertain the potential gain. The highest amount on the board is the maximum amount the contestant could win. As the game is played out and cases get eliminated, this causes the potential gain to spiral downward.

Next you must determine the probability of the gain. There are 26 cases and spots on the board so the probability that the contestant has the highest value case is calculated by the number of high value prizes left divided by the number of total cases left.

As an example: during a game of Deal or No Deal, there are 9 cases left in play plus the one originally selected by the contestant for a total of 10 cases. The board has 3 prizes left of $100,000 or more. Therefore, the probability that the contestant has a case with a prize amount of $100,000 or more is 10%.

To further clarify the example, let’s assume the three high prize cases contain these amounts: $100,000, $400,000, and $750,000. Now multiply each of these amounts by the 10% number we obtained earlier and add the three sums together for a final tally of $125,000.

This is the expected value of the contestant's case. So if the banker offers him less than $125,000, you can advise, "No deal!" The show doesn’t lose money because they rarely offer more than expected value when large sums are left in play. Plus it is very hard for a contestant to accept $125,000 when there is a good chance he could yet win $1 million.

Now you have a few guidelines you can use to assist you in giving armchair advice to your favorite contestants on the wildly popular TV game show Deal or No Deal.

The scuba equipment you have to have

If you are planning to venture into the world of scuba diving, one thing you should definitely not do is be unprepared. Contrary to popular belief, scuba diving is not just about diving deep underwater in order to see the wonders of the sea. Scuba diving is something that requires much knowledge before it is put into action. Therefore, it would be best if you endow yourself with the proper tips and guidelines in diving before venturing into the deep. As with the proper tips and guidelines in scuba diving, you should equip yourself with the basic knowledge of scuba equipment. Scuba equipment is very important in scuba diving, inasmuch as breathing is vital to your existence – a diver cannot survive without it.

Scuba Equipment for Breathing

Otherwise known as the Rebreather, the Aqualung is the most important item you must have in your scuba equipment. Without it, breathing underwater is not even possible. If there’s one thing you should know, that’s the danger of scuba diving. Without equipping yourself with the proper breathing machine for underwater, you are in great danger. Therefore, you must not take risks. Be sure that you have this most important scuba diving item in your scuba equipment. After all, scuba diving is not scuba diving without an aqualung.

Scuba Equipment for Alternative Breathing

Though right now the Aqualung is the most widely used scuba equipment in breathing, there are other scuba tools you can use for underwater breathing. The most recent innovation is the liquid breathing system. Although not completely developed yet, the liquid breathing system can prove to be an innovative integration to the experience that is scuba diving. With liquid breathing system, divers can dive to totally deeper pits of the water, hence, allowing a more unique and fun diving experience. If you are not planning to dive too deep under the sea, then you can go for the simple but effective snorkel which allows you to breathe in oxygen from above the surface of the water.

Scuba Equipment for Water Movement

Scuba diving is not scuba diving if you are constantly restraining yourself while moving underwater. If you really want a scuba diving experience that is exhilarating and fulfilling, then you ought to have the appropriate scuba equipment for underwater movement. First in the list is the scuba diving dress. Make sure that your scuba diving dress does not let water seep in and, at the same time, does not restrain your bodily movement. Make sure that, in picking your scuba diving dress, you never compromise quality with the price. If you do, you are henceforth putting your own safety and enjoyment in the line. Fins are also a simple but most important factor in your scuba equipment. This allows you to project your movements underwater. If your scuba fins are too small or too large, it will definitely show when you are already diving underwater. It can either exaggerate or hold back your feet while you are swimming. These are both instances you will want to avoid, so you better pick the best scuba fins.

Scuba Equipment for Water Navigation

What could be worse than knowing that you are lost underwater? This can be a painful situation for you, which is exactly why you better include the important tools in water navigation in your scuba equipment. Such includes the underwater compass. Definitely, it is harder to have a sense of direction underwater than in land, so you better be sure that you have an underwater compass in your scuba equipment, lest you be lost underwater. Also a must in your scuba equipment is a depth gauge, which will tell you exactly how deep from the surface level you are.

The best of boating accessories

With every hobby comes a host of accompaniments available to make your experience that much better. And when it comes to boating there’s no difference. Boating accessories abound, designed to enhance the boater’s experience and add a level of convenience and luxury to otherwise ordinary endeavors. Boating accessories can supplement the many features of a boat and add to the comfort level onboard; they can also take luxury to a new level.

Of course, there are required boating accessories such as those safety items that remain onboard at all times including life jackets, fire extinguishers, distress signals such as flares, a throwable ring or cushion to reach someone who has fallen overboard, a first aid kit, several flashlights with extra batteries, and working lights on the boat. It is also important to have a compass – or GPS – on board for navigational purposes, as well as a radio for open communication. Some states also require a bilge pump on board that will handle any water the boat has taken on in an emergency. There are other non-required – but highly recommended - safety boating accessories such as a life boat. For longer trips especially it makes the most sense to carry as much as you can in order to be as prepared as possible.

There are also highly entertaining boating accessories that making boating the fun activity that so many people enjoy. The inclusion of sporting equipment – such as water skiing equipment, jet skis, and fishing poles makes boating about more than just the boat itself – but rather the activities that can happen around it.

Onboard living has become the greatest in luxury; more and more boat owners are detailing their boats with the latest boating accessories designed to enhance the onboard experience. Boating accessories such as convenience appliances – microwaves, blenders, etc. - and entertainment equipment – specially designed DVD players, boat specific speaker systems - have made staying on a boat the ultimate in comfort and luxury.

Boating accessories make boating more than just a weekend activity; they make your boat another home where you and your family can be as comfortable – if not more comfortable – than you would be on land.

The secret to club head speed the holy grail in golf - part 3

In this 3 Part Special Golf Report you will learn:

- What creates club head speed?

- How to dramatically increase your club head?

Let us now look at the way a golf club is designed. You remember in high school when we all learned about levers? Levers have a way of multiplying force thus giving you a mechanical advantage when you want to move a large object for example. Most golfers think there are only 2 levers in the golf swing - the arms and the club. The reason for this I believe is teaching pros either do not know this, or they think their students are too dumb to understand this.

There are actually 3 levers in the golf swing. This is such an important concept that it is worth repeating - "THERE ARE 3 LEVERS IN THE GOLF SWING"!!! The first lever is the arms, the second lever is the club...can you guess what the third lever is? Most amateurs do not know the answer to this question. This is why most amateurs cannot create REAL club head speed.

The third lever is the clubface! This 3rd lever rotates around its own axis. The clubface is rotating on an axis or plane that is DIFFERENT from the axis the other 2 levers in the swing are. The hands & wrists control the rotation of the club face. How do we use this 3rd lever to create club head speed?

In other words, how do we cause this third lever (the clubface) to deliver an incredible force through the ball? You use this 3rd lever by pronating or rolling the right hand over the left hand (full release) as you swing through the ball. To pronate means to turn the right palm face down as you are coming through the ball.

Simply stated, consciously rolling the right forearm over the left forearm as you swing through the impact area will ingrain the feeling of a full release. This is how the pros create that power draw that you see at tournaments. Have you ever noticed why the ball sounds different coming off the pros club face...they have mastered this principal.

A lot of the pros have been doing this for so long they don't even know they are doing it. It has become ingrained in their subconscious. This is why I believe they cannot articulate what they are doing because it has become second nature.

HOW TO DRAMATICALLY INCREASE YOUR CLUB HEAD SPEED:

Hopefully I have convinced you that it is the hands that contribute most to club head speed. Now that you understand the concept, let's ingrain this concept into your subconscious, or feel if you will. Scientists who study biomechanics have determined that in order to translate a complex skill into habit you must practice it for 30 days!

WARNING: Before you do the following drill, make sure you spend a few minutes stretching to avoid injury.

Drill to Dramatically Increase Your Club Head Speed:

Get yourself two mid irons or a weighted club. There are many weighted clubs on the market... Momentus sells a few different weighted clubs with molded grips that work well.

Swing the weighted club slowly at first and concentrate on the release of the hands through the impact area. As you warm up swing the club faster. The extra weight of the club forces you to swing the club on plane with a full release.

Do this drill for 30 days straight then watch the golf ball explode off your club face!

You cannot skip a day, you must practice this drill CORRECTLY for 30 consecutive days. This is why the golf swing is so difficult to learn...most people do not have the patience to practice the same thing for 30 days. They usually will try something for a few days and if they don't show immediate improvement, they move on to the "tip of the month".

Stay the course with this drill and you will see an amazing increase in your club head speed adding much more distance to your tee shots!

Hit 'em Long & Straight!

Watts the truth

Have you ever been asked how many watts your electric scooter is? Do you know what they are talking about? Not a day goes by when someone comes into the store and says I want an X watt electric scooter. Do they really know what they are asking? Let’s break it down.

As a scooter shop store and service center, I’m here to educate you that watts are not the only concern when buying electric scooters. Though the amount of wattage is important, there are other factors that need to be considered and all work hand in hand to determine the speed, range and endurance capability of your electric scooters.

Watts, as defined in the The American Heritage® Science Dictionary is “The SI derived unit used to measure power, equal to one joule per second. In electricity, a watt is equal to current (in amperes) multiplied by voltage (in volts). When we think of watts in the electric scooter, we think of the amount of output power that the motor can give us at its peak.

It is our experience, that the more stable electric scooters are going to be more dependant on not only the amount of watts that the motor is, but also with the type of controller and battery setup that comes with all that power. All three components must work together properly to provide an efficient product that can maximize the power of the motor.

We have seen electric powered scooters with a rating of 750 and even up to 1000 watts. We used to carry these types of electric scooters. However, we had serious problems with the controllers and even had several that required so much power that the controllers would literally catch fire. After several attempts to eliminate this, we determined that the 750 and 1000 watt electric powered scooters were not worth the possible incidents.

Sure a 750 watt or even a 1000 watt electric scooter sounds great. More power right? Consider this word of caution. The 750 watt and 1000 watt electric scooters have been known to have a lower actual output of power. Every electric powered scooter motor has a plate with the rating stamped on it. Look at yours and if it is supposed to be a 750 watt or 1000 watt motor, then the plate should read exactly that. Chances are that it may be just a 500 watt motor. If the dealer won’t provide complete details, then our advice is to stay away from that dealer; chances are that they won’t be there when you need them to get your electric scooters fixed.

The most common wattage for the popular scooters these days are going to be the 350 watt electric powered scooters or the 500 watt electric powered scooters. Our advice is to stick to these types of electric scooters. Don’t be tempted to go higher, unless it is a proven brand. The only proven brand with little to no problems from our experience is Go-Ped. Go-Ped is made in the United States and is featured worldwide. The X-Treme electric scooters have proven to be among the top of the line imported electric scooters.

Some of the popular bicycle manufacturers have come out with higher wattage electric scooters and are continuously refining their controller setups.

Even the true 750 watt electric scooters won’t get you much faster, maybe one to two miles per hour and maybe three to four more miles on a charge. Some 750 watt electric scooters will not even get you as far as the higher end 500 watt models.

I have a few 500 watt model electric powered scooters that can go an average of twenty to thirty miles per hour and twenty to thirty miles on a single charge. There are not many that can claim that and prove it. One thing to remember is that both speed and distance is dependant on the type of terrain that the scooter is on as well as how much weight it is carrying. The heavier the load, the less distance and speed that you will get overall.

Remember that it’s not just about watts. Controller and battery setup also play a major role in determining the overall performance of your electric scooter. Remembering this will ensure that you won’t be disappointed.

Tennis clothes should be comfortable

You have been playing tennis on and off over the years and have finally decided to get more serious about the game. You figure you can kill two birds with one stone by getting your exercise while doing something you like. Now, you set off to get yourself ready to play.

As always, you want to look your best, after all, you have always been a great dresser. The decision now is 'what should I wear when playing tennis?' Do I need special outfits similar to what pros like the Williams sisters wear or can I just wear casual clothing? Bottom line is that the decision is yours to make.

You can purchase a complete outfit made by any major manufacturer of sporting goods. These include Nike, Adidas, Prince, Wilson, Head, Babolat, Balle de Match, and there still many more out there selling good products.

If you do not want to invest in the special clothes, think comfortable. Your outfit should be loose and flowing as you will be running back and forth, jumping up and down and twisting in every direction as you try to hit the ball. Maybe you will want to just wear the clothes you already have in your closet or to purchase ones-either works as long as you can move freely around the court.

If you join a group or a club and play as a team together, you may need to purchase a team uniform.

Your group will select an outfit that may include a top, shorts, socks and jacket or a special short dress with socks and a jacket-monograms are also available and you can even add the team’s name to the back of the outfit.

If you have joined a tennis club, you may want to stop by periodically to see what other people are wearing. I am not saying that you should try to 'keep up with the Jones' here, but there may be an 'unspoken' dress code for players. You should be able to figure that out without embarrassing yourself by showing up inappropriately dressed.

Take time to go out and shop around for your outfit. If you do not have a lot of spare time or you hate to think about spending time at the mall on your day off, look on the internet. Just type in 'tennis clothing' and you will be amazed at the number of different web sites that will be listed.

Go through a few of these sites to get an idea of what you want-this is probably the quickest and easiest way to see literally hundreds of different options in just a few minutes. You can even order your outfit without every leaving your home-it can even be delivered directly to your door for you to wear.

Find the outfit you like and that you are comfortable in. Play tennis with your friends, make new acquaintances, schmooze with potential clients, and just enjoy yourself. You are out with people and getting exercise and you look and feel great.

Kimbo street fights are inspiring fighters around the globe

Miami based street boxer Kimbo did not get his reputation as one of the toughest street fighters simply by ordinary fights. Known as the king of street fights, Kimbo Slice has some real street fights under his sleeves.

Kimbo's first reputed street fights was with Leonard Bryd. Actualy it was one-sided bareknuckle boxing fight between him and Bryd, another large black man in a backyard in Perrine, Florida. The king easily dominated the fight, his several mean blows to Bryd's right eye made it a bloody mess and understandably, after a good number of knockdowns, Bryd refuses to contest anymore. For Kimbo, he's in a restless state, yelling at his opponent to hurry up the fight while Byrd hardly have the time to even catch his breath. The end of the fight, one sees Kimbo giving a short statement, unashamedly telling the audience that's the way a niggar eats!

Another famous fighter that Kimbo fights in the streets is with Sean Gannnon, known aptly as ' the Cannon'. This is the sole fight where Kimbo loses and that too to a cop! Anyhow, Kimbo was actually challenged by the Boston police officer in 2003 and it takes place in an enclosed padded room with a full audience in attendance. This fight is also mixed in some controvercies regarding the rules to be followed; both agreed that kicking and ground submissions were not acceptable. There came some disagreement from the supporters of the cop that it was within the rules for Gannon to use his knees and attempt standing submission against Kimbo. Well, the fight started with some punches from both which was soon followed by Kimbo grabbing the cops midsection but soon Gannon retaliated in a quillotine choke. This was met with huge protests by Kimbo's supporters that it was againt the rules and interfered in the fight, blocking the camera too. This led to the release of Kimbo from the death grip, then the blackguy pummels the cop vigorously but Gannon was soon able to stand up and caught Kimbo in another mighty choke. Another protest from Kimbo's supporters came and also when the cop delivered a few knees to Kimbo's face by bending him down. By this time both were quite exhausted and soon, Gannon became more fierce, knocking Kimbo thrice after which Kimbo was not in much shape to continue and the Cop from Boston was declared the winner. And yes, this bout in the underground street fighting with Kimbo did no cost Gannon his job but a reputation as the Cannon.

Another famous fight was with Rasta. Here each fighter were able to dodge and block the other's attacks well. But this is not Kimbo's style. Soon he delivers a mean uppercut to Rasta's face, bleeding his nose profusely and Rasta declares that he's done. Over the internet, several challenges and mean fights of Kimbo can be found. He's someone to be feared, declaring openly that he has the passion to fight real fights and for the money too.

Table tennis techniques

Table tennis is a very interesting sport. This game is a classical example where there must be hand to eye coordination is key in beating an opponent.

The way that a player holds the paddle is the best way to learn the various techniques. Take for example the shake handgrip where the person will literally take hold of it like shaking a person’s hand.

This is very easy to learn and the way it is handled will allow the player to serve, block, push and smash whenever it is needed. In fact, beginners do not only use this technique because experienced athletes still apply it during practice and in competition.

Another way of holding the paddle is called the pen grip. The individual will hold the handle as though this is like a pen. People will surely notice that a lot of Asians use this especially the Chinese who were the ones who invented it.

What is the difference between the two aside from how the paddle is held? Those who decide to use the handshake will keep the edge of the paddle always on the side. Players who use the pen grip will point this toward the ground.

These are two most popular ways of holding the paddle. Since the sport is not only about using the arms, proper technique is also developed with fancy footwork. This is achieved based on the stance one takes either being in the offense or defense.

It takes time to master one of the other. Perhaps when the individual’s skills have improved, this will be a good time to learn the second one then see which one is better when playing in a game.

Since the ball may come in any direction, the player should crouch a little keeping the hands close to the shoulders. This should be relaxed at all times since tension will build up later on as the game goes on further.

The person also does not have to run from one end of the table to the other unlike tennis but faster movement can be done with knees bent and the legs a few feet apart.

It will take some time to achieve proper timing. The player will realize later on that a miss will happen when the reaction is either too fast or slow.

While on the offense, the speed drive works best. The player starts the momentum by trading a few volleys and when the timing is right, a smash will be sent to the other side thus adding one more point on the scoreboard.

Of course, the other player can do the same thing so it is best to be prepared for it that is known as the counter drive. The player will just have to take the initiative when to smash it again to the other side but be prepared just in case the opponent is able to anticipate this at the same time.

Some matches will even have both players standing a few feet away from the table. This is called a lob given that both sides are trading some powerful shots. There is a way to end this and it goes back to the smash.

It will be a good idea to also learn how to block so that the energy given by the other player is returned in kind by simply putting the paddle up.

The amazing british museum

Among the countless tourist attractions in contemporary London, such as the Houses of Parliament, Tower Bridge and Buckingham Palace, the one that can easily be considered the unforgettable "Queen" amongst them all, is the British Museum. Britain's national museum of archaeology and antiquities was established by an act of Parliament in 1753, when the government purchased three large private collections consisting of books, manuscripts, prints, drawings, paintings, medals, coins, seals, cameos, and natural curiosities. Today, home of approximately seven million objects from all continents, the British museum is considered to be the most popular and famous museum in the world.

Located in the Bloomsbury district of London, the British museum's collections in archaeology and ethnography are particularly outstanding. Being one of London's principal tourist attractions, the visitor can admire its famous holdings, like the Elgin Marbles, carvings from the Athenian Parthenon, the Rosetta Stone, the Portland Vase, the Benin Bronzes, Egyptian Mummies, and the Chinese ceramics. Its drawings collection holds more than 2,000 drawings constituting the world's largest and most comprehensive collections.

Since it first opened its doors to the public, on January 15, 1759 the museum has been illustrating and documenting the story of human development and culture from its early years to the present day. Because the British Museum does not charge any admission fees, the exception being some temporary special exhibitions, interested publics from around the globe line up outside its doors waiting to enter its amazing gallery showrooms and admire the plethora of human creations kept in there.

But some of its most prestigious holdings, like the Parthenon Marbles and the Benin Bronzes are among its most disputed collections. These collections are the subject of great controversy and political debates since various organizations lobby in favor of their return to their native countries of Greece and Nigeria respectively. But regardless of the harsh criticism, the British Museum has refused to return either collection, arguing that if the British Museum was to return to their original geographical location any of its current possessions that would mean empty rooms for a great many museums around the world. Although critics argue that these artifacts, among others, should now return to their home countries, the British Museum continues to support that it is an appropriate custodian and has the inalienable right over these disputed creations under British law. Nevertheless, the fact still remains that the British Museum is one of the most important London destinations one should not miss visiting when circumstances allow a ride to one of the most famous and interesting capitals in the world.

Betting on nascar

Motor racing is growing in staggering numbers and Nascar is right at the top. The sport only has one race a week but there is all kinds of different things to bet on at internet sportsbooks. The odds offered are much better early in the week before qualifying but you take a huge risk if you have not done the right research. If you know what you are doing then there is plenty of money to be made every race. The bad thing about betting on Nascar is that you have no control over that loser that is a lap down and catches your driver up in a wreck. Most of the different ways to bet on Nascar are not available until after qualifying is over or until the day of the race. Here is a list of some possible ways to bet on Nascar at most of the different internet sportsbooks.

Race Winner - This is the quite obviously the toughest bet to hit but the odds usually start off big even for the big name drivers. This bet is usually the only one that is available before the start of qualifying but can change dramatically as different sessions go on during the week. You will usually have about 20 different different drivers to choose from as well as a bet to pick the rest of the field that does not have odds up. Picking the field is not a very good bet because most of the drivers that have a realistic shot at winning have odds.

Top 3 or Top 5 - This bet is safer than picking the winner but can still be tricky. You need to pick out a driver and all he has to do is finish in at least the top 3 or 5, whichever you bet. This makes for a much less stressful bet when you have those few extra spots to finish in. This is another bet that is not open usually until after qualifying or the same day as the race.

Heads Up - This is a much easier bet to hit than picking the winner or top 5. All you have to do is pick out one of the matchups that are available for each race and pick out the driver you think will win. There is often a bunch of different matchups but you will not always find the perfect one. The odds vary on this based on the drivers in each matchup. You can often not find this bet as an option until the day of the race.

Highest Finishing In A Group - This bet has a ton of different options to bet on Nascar. You will find groups of different sizes and drivers and you must pick out the one that finishes in front of the others in that group. There will be groups such as highest finishing chevy or just random drivers thrown together. You will likely not be able to find this bet either at least until after qualifying or the day of the race.

These are most of the ways that are available for people to bet on Nascar. The trick to having a winning Sunday is to search around until you find a good value bet. As with any gambling, be responsible and do not bet more than you can afford to lose.

Characteristics of a whitewater river

The basic definition of a whitewater river is simply a river that has quite a few rapids along its length. The whitewater itself is formed in the rapids, when the river drops suddenly enough to let the water drop rapidly which then makes the water churn and froth enough to form whitewater, or basically foamy water.

Types and Features of Whitewater Rivers

Whitewater rivers are classified into six different categories worldwide. The ratings range from one, the easiest, to six, the hardest. The grades also refer to how technically difficult and dangerous the river and rapids are. The whitewater river’s rating can change over time, depending on how quickly the water is flowing through the river, and also how deep the river is at that particular time. When a whitewater river is flooding, it may become more dangerous and difficult because the water is flowing much faster and is much deeper.

Whitewater rivers can have many different features along their path. These features all have their own names. Strainers are a blockage of the river that still lets the water run around and partially through it. Strainers are very dangerous features of whitewater rivers because once something is trapped against it, the water will continue to push against it, and the object or person will be forced down under the water.

Sweepers are simply trees that have fallen into the river or are partially in the river, but are still attached into the riverbank by their roots. Sweepers don’t form whitewater but can still be dangerous because they can trap paddlers or seriously obstruct their path.

Hydraulics are a more serious threat on a whitewater river. Hydraulics form when water flows over the top of an object under the water, which can then cause the water to flow back upstream over the top of the underwater object. This essentially causes a whirlpool effect, which kayakers can easily become stuck in.

Pillows are another cause of whitewater. These are formed when a lot of water runs into a large object, which makes the water rage against that side of the object. Often the object that is the cause of the pillow can be undercut and kayakers may be forced underwater and trapped under and against the object.

Whitewater rivers can be thoroughly exciting and cause adrenaline rushes. This is simply because they can be very dangerous and the primal adrenaline rush makes it just that much more exciting. If you use common sense and take necessary precautions on a whitewater river, you will have a great time and more than likely survive the trip itself.

Fishing adventures in canada

If you are the sort of person who enjoys a more extreme and thrilling fishing trip, then Canada is definitely the place for you. In Canada there are rivers, lakes, and streams in abundance. You can find both fresh and saltwater fishing areas all within close proximity of each other. And the fish themselves are plentiful in this great part of North America. And as a result there are many types of fishing trips to choose from, so you are sure to find one or more that you love.

As for bodies of water, there are two main types of fishing in Canada – salt water and lake water fishing. Both are different from one other, and information concerning either is available in most any of the plentiful fishing equipment shops. You can also buy everything in the fishing shops that you will need for your trip.

Salmon fishing is particularly popular in Canada. And as there are many "versions" of salmon to fish, you might experience some difficulty making a choice. Frequently, people base their trips simply and exclusively around salmon fishing.

Fishing in the salty waters of Canada’s three coasts is immensely popular. There are scores of large fish to be caught off the shores, increasingly as the waters reach deeper levels. Tuna and shark are two of the species that are highly sought.

The older sport of fly fishing is also very common in Canada. Fly fishing is performed by using a lure, also known as a fly. If this is of interest to you, check out some of the fly fishing packages available.

Ice fishing is another form of fishing that offers a lot of fun while in Canada. There is quite a bit of equipment that you need for such trips, however, but your guide - if you hire one - will be more than happy to help you gather what you require. While there, you can rent an ice hut to serve as shelter from the elements. Ice fishing truly has to be experienced to gain a good appreciation of its nuances. And if you are an adventuresome fisherman, you will no doubt want to try it yourself - at least once.

Regardless of the form of fishing you enjoy in Canada, it is wise to enlist the help of a guide. By hiring a guide you will be able to gain the most benefits from your fishing trip. It is also wise to pack emergency equipment such as your cell phone, first aid kit, and extra clothing to keep warm.

You will have a great time fishing in Canada!

The history of online gambling

Online gambling is a fairly recent practice, yet a very controversial one. Its history began in the 90’s, as the internet began increasing in popularity. One of the first events to take place was when the government of an island in the Caribbean, Antigua and Barbuda, passed a law in 1994 which allowed online casinos to base there. This was called the Free Trade and Processing Act. Realizing the almost endless possibilities of making money through online gambling, several entrepreneurs jumped at the now legal chance to start this new venture.

Different companies were formed that same year and more continued to be formed in the years that followed. Some of these companies were creating online casinos, and others were designing the software needed to run the financial transactions of online gambling and developing new games. As online casinos started to increase in number and become an extremely lucrative business, with reported revenues of nearly 835 million dollars in 1998 alone, different layers of the U. S government began to take notice. One in particular, Senator Jon Kyl, a Republican from Arizona, decided he would be the leader against online casinos and introduced the Internet Gambling Prohibition Act in an attempt to restrict gambling activity in the United States. The bill failed to pass in Congress, and online gambling continued to flourish, possibly even better thanks to the media attention it had received courtesy of the senator.

As online gambling continued, a few companies created software packages that could be leased by online gaming sites for a percentage of their earnings. This helps many new online gaming sites appear. Around this time, Canada also began to curb online gaming activities, raiding offices and eventually fining one of the largest online gambling servers.

In 1999, Senator Kyl presents a revised version of his Prohibition Act bill, and once again, it fails to gain the support needed in order to pass. Meanwhile, Australia allows the creation of an online casino, which in the end became the only one allowed and is currently still in operation. Although many more would-be casinos attempted to obtain licenses in Australia, the Australian government quickly formed a law preventing any new online gambling operations.

In 2000, Republican Senator Bob Goodlatte of Virginia introduces a further revised Prohibition Act to congress, and it is once more turned down. The following year, two bills that would help cut online gambling are passed in Congress. One was an updated version of the Wire Act, which makes it unlawful for individuals to be involved in the business of betting or gambling. The other bill attempts to prevent online payment to online casinos by prohibiting institutions based in the U. S. from handling such payments, making it more difficult for U. S. residents to engage in online gambling.

A few lawsuits occurred in the years that followed, and in 2006, several arrests of online gambling CEOs were made. At the same time, the U. S imposed sanctions on offshore gambling companies, resulting in Antigua and Barbuda filing a case with the World Trade Organization, which rules that U. S. actions are discriminatory and unlawful.

Nonetheless, in October, 2006, the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act is approved by congress, although many question the integrity of the means used to pass it. Online casinos continue to operate and attempt to change laws to their favor; meanwhile, most operate offshore, although U. S residents still make up a large part of their clientele.

Buying the perfect rod and reel

Over the several years that I’ve been fishing, I have had a lot of questions from my friends about the best rod and reel to buy. Apparently, I’m not alone in this, because ever since I started browsing the Internet, I’ve read countless emails and messages from people in blogs, forums and the like, all wanting to know which is the best rod and reel out there.

Now, I’m not going to lie to you. I truly believe that there is a perfect rod and reel out there for you. In fact, there are several perfect rods and reels out there, but you’d have to determine which one will suit you, depending on your personal preferences. Price is not going to be the determining factor here. Are you getting my drift now? Here are several ideas to help you decide the perfect rod and reel for you.

Decide on what fish do you want to catch. Particularly the size, since this is an important factor when you start choosing your tackle. It’s like trying to kill a fly with an axe. The size of your prey will determine the relative size of your equipment.

Next, think about where you would be going to fish. And I’m not talking merely about saltwater and freshwater fishing. You need to think about more specific issues, like the available space for casting, the amount of skill you have in making long casts, and even whether you’re going fishing on a pier, on a lake, or off a boat in the ocean. The answers you’ll get will also play a definite role in deciding what to buy.

Now, here are the different tackle choices available, broken down into basic categories.

Ultralight Spinning – This is ideal for small-sized fishing in confined areas. Lines from two to six pound test will give you a challenge, depending on your skill. If you land a fish with this tackle, you’ll have something to brag about.

Light and Medium Spinning – The staples in the spinning group. The sizes of the lines can go from six pound test to seventeen pounds. Most inshore saltwater fish can be caught with this tackle, and it’s recommended for use in an inshore boat, off a pier, or even on the shore itself, but not in the surf.

Heavy Spinning – The big boy you need for offshore trolling. These are also used in combination with surf rods when you want to go surf fishing. The line sizes here are twenty pound test and above. The largest sizes you can effectively use for a spinning tackle will be around thirty pound test.

Bait Casting – The conventional reels used mainly for inshore fishing. Used for casting artificial lures and plugs, and the line sizes range from twelve to twenty pound test. It’s not recommended using lines lighter than twelve pound test with this one.

Bottom Fishing – The mainstay of most head boats. Rods can go around six or seven feet long, with a conventional reel. Line sizes can go from thirty to eighty pound test. This outfit is really tough and rugged, and can easily haul big fish off the bottom.

Trolling – This is quite similar to bottom fishing tackle, but very much specialized. I would suggest getting a professional to help you with buying one, since you seriously need to consider price and size here. Prices can go around $1,000 for each.

An expensive tackle offers absolutely no guarantee that it is the best for you. A lot of seasoned fishermen have tackles that cost up to $400 each, as well as some that just cost around $50, and they swear that the cheaper ones perform just as well as the high-priced ones.
