Bad habits breaking them vs. braking them

Sometimes there’s a habit that has been so damaging, so annoying, or frankly, so unsavory that we simply need to cut it out of our lives. Like mold on cheese.

Other times we’re not ready, or able, to slice it off completely. Or maybe it has been with us so long, it’s just hard to imagine life without it.

And there are certain habits that are useful once in a blue moon, for particular situations, and we need to have them available on an as-needed basis, though not all the time. You’ll understand what I mean in a moment, and you might be able to identify a few of your own that fall into this category.

For example, the husband of a client needed to step away from the habit of zoning out when someone was talking to him, particularly his wife. He came to me for hypnosis to help him stay present, conscious and engaged. Fair enough.

We were set to begin the induction (the stage when the hypnotist/hypnotherapist leads the client into the hypnotic state), when he suddenly stopped the process.

“Wait! I need to be able to zone out once in a while,” he said, “Is that do-able? Because when my uncle starts giving me statistics on all his favorite baseball players….”

So we did hypnosis to make “zoning out” a choice rather than something that just “happened” to him and was beyond his control. It worked perfectly.

The incident made me realize that we all need to know we have choices. We don’t need to go all the way in everything we do.

*We don’t have to like all our relatives, we can like some more than others, and spend less time with those who chew our ear off with tales of their brilliant dog. Or toddler.

*We don’t have to become the top salesperson in the company by next month. We can work to increase our quota by, say, 5-10% next month and 15% the following month. And so on. Even the smallest increase can add to our confidence and build momentum.

*We don’t have to be married by next year. It’s okay to just start dating and see where it gets us. And who it gets us.

*We don’t have to eliminate all sugar (unless a doctor instructs us to), we can eat less of it. Same for fat, caffeine, etc.

“Putting the brakes” on certain negative habits without completely eliminating them may bring satisfaction and improved health with less pain. It may become easier to let go of a habit if we simply don’t tell ourselves “You can never, ever have/do/be this ever again!” Certainly, dropping the number of times you partake in a negative habit, per day or per week, is better than not decreasing it at all.

Nicotine is a little different. For most people, cutting back on smoking little-by-little doesn’t work as well as complete elimination. Unfortunately, but the secrets of smoking cessation is another article, for another time.

Which habits of yours would you like to eliminate? (Write your answers down for best results.) And which of these would be more comfortably eliminated bit-by-bit and which in one gigantic swoop? (Write.)

Which habits would you like to create or reinstate in your life? (Write.) Which of these should be introduced into your routine little by little? And which enforced frequently? (Write.) Note: for some people, creating or starting a habit gradually works best, while a harmful habit is best eliminated in one cut. For others, the process varies.

On a personal note, I eliminated artificial sweeteners in one day because I needed to cut out the craving for that particular taste. But bringing exercise back into my life was on a one-day-at-a-time basis and is still ongoing. Check how it works best for you.

But whether you break or brake your habit, know that every useful and positive change you make in your life creates a flow of more useful and positive changes. Enjoy the process along with the rewards. ©2007 by Wendy Lapidus-Saltz. All rights reserved.

Questioning skills and nlp training

Have you ever noticed that I begin a lot of my articles with questions?

Asking the right questions can make a huge difference to your quality of life, ask the wrong ones and they could be disastrous.

Questions also draw people in and if used in the right away leave people hanging desperate to know more (an old but effective marketing trick). Wouldn't it be good if this article showed you how to do that?

NLP teaches a new model of the world that will allow you to replace questions you would normally ask with new ones. If you were at cause for your life rather than at the effect how would you change to get better results? By simply taking charge and recognising that you are causing the results you are getting in your life you automatically begin asking new questions.

The right questions give you better answers, for example whereas you might have asked "Why does this always happen to me?" You may now begin asking the question, "How can I ensure I get a better result next time?

Try it yourself now. When you are feeling low what questions do you ask?

How can you change them to empower yourself and make a difference to your life?

You can use questions to improve almost any area of your life. Here's a list of questions that you can apply to any area to make improvements.

" How can I improve on that [specific area]?

" What strategies is (insert name of person) using that mean they get better results?

" What can I do to get better results and take less effort to do it?

" How can I make it so that I enjoy myself even more?

" What level of proficiency do I want to gain in this area?

With a little bit of practice you will begin to ask questions that are a lot more empowering and useful. It requires discipline but the results of asking a different question can be quite amazing. It requires careful thinking about how to frame the question but the effort will be worth it.

Questions aren't just useful for yourself - by asking the right question to others can make a massive difference in their lives and performance as well. For example by asking one of your workers how they can improve productivity and enjoy what they are doing. How about asking your child how can they can make it so that they enjoy doing their homework.

When you ask a question it engages the brain and causes the person to answer. If the person you are questioning actually seriously thinks about what you have asked the chances are that they will come up with some pretty remarkable answers.

So what questions can you ask that will make a huge difference to your life and the lives of the people around you?

A good NLP training course will give you a range of ideas and ways of looking at the world that mean you will start thinking about how you question yourself and others in new ways.

How many different ways can you already think of to use new questions? Here are a few ideas:

Personal development: What is the one question I can ask myself that will give me the biggest result right now?

Manager to team: What do I have to say or do to support you in making this project the best result we have ever had?

Trainer to class: Of all the benefits of attending this course which one motivates you to keep focused and learning?

Sales agent to prospect: What is the one objection that if we overcome you will realize that this is the best product for you?

Any good NLP Practitioner will recognize these as presuppositional questions. In non jargon terms, by considering and answering the question certain assumptions are presupposed as true. Now you understand the concept how many other ways can you think of using this?

On a good NLP Practitioner Course we will show you how to create presuppositions, generate questions and then tie them into a specific context like recruitment, coaching, sales and any other influencing situation you can think of.

Have you ever heard the saying - "ask a stupid question get a stupid answer"…well having read this article are you already considering the huge amount of power in well thought out constructive questions?

Are the grapes hanging too high

Have you ever questioned yourself or worried if you were a person that was about to accomplish something really big? Are you having doubts about your abilities on a regular basis? Are you comparing yourself a lot to people you admire? Thoughts like that are a sure sign that you are playing small!

Thoughts like that have the tendency to diminish your own inner power. The way you think about yourself is reflected in your everyday life. All depends on your attitude. Each one of us has these feelings about being worthless from time to time, and some of us have them their whole lives and they aren't even aware of them.

Self-worth is a big topic in personal development issues. Someone with poor self-worth does not allow himself to see that he can achieve anything worthwhile. He will always find a reason to not follow the path of success just because he has to prove to himself that he is worthless.

This might sound kind of harsh but it is the truth and as long as this belief sits fast glued to his personality, a person will have difficulties to change her life. When you decide to start to work from home and create your own business you better be aware of your attitude. It is critical to watch what is going on in one's mind and how you are dealing with challenges within your work from home business.

Are you setting goals, are you giving your full effort to them? How do you react in times of little or no success? Are you trying to better yourself every day in order to improve your abilities and chances for success without paying much attention to activities that didn't work out so well? How badly do you want this success? Are you ready to do what it takes to obtain it?

A work from home business that is going to be successful requires some important character traits that you either already have or can obtain. It all starts with yourself. So you might want to take a deep and long lasting look at your "self", and maybe you notice a few glimpses of what I have been talking here.

People with poor self-worth fail to see the incredible positive impact they could have on the world around them. They doubt their abilities, dismiss their talents and neglect opportunities to grow. In this way, they not only deprive themselves of valuable experiences, they deprive the world of the joy and abundance they could share.

Everybody in this universe is unique. Nobody is thought to be a copy of somebody else. Everybody deserves success and happiness in his life. The sooner you find out about your original self the faster you can get rid off the false attitudes that keep you on a low level of energy.

Do you resonate with some of these thoughts? Most of us do and it is nothing to be ashamed of. We are the only living beings on this planet who have such an incredible ability to learn and grow. Why do other "average" people succeed to work from home and make a decent income? Maybe they started out like you but then realized their utter potential and they got to work and started learning everything they needed to be successful in their work from home business.

If you think you are not good at something or donґt have the talent, sit down and learn it and prove to yourself that you can do anything you want. Just because you believe you don’t have any great talents right now, doesn’t mean you couldn’t develop some later.

Make a commitment right now to search and discover your natural abilities and share them with others. Let your dreams come true, donґt postpone any longer. Give yourself a chance and let your uniqueness shine. The world will thank you in a thousand ways.

I wish you all the success in the world for your work from home business.

Why haven t i created the life i want

One of the most amazing things about being human is that every dream or creation leads us to want to dream bigger, or to create a bigger dream than the ones we had before.

One of the main reasons why your life looks the way it does right now is YOU WEREN'T SPECIFIC ENOUGH. Thought you'd never have to hear that again, right? And so we got a version of what we wanted, but it wasn’t the complete version. See, we spend a lot of time looking at what we don’t want, but very little being very specific about what we do want. I remember one day I wrote what my perfect guy looked like; I thought I wrote everything … everything that was, except his personality. Well within 3 days the guy matching my description showed up, with a personality I couldn’t stand!

My prosperity partners and I were doing a project once (and I have to tell you it's the hardest thing waiting for 3 other people’s opinions!) At one point during the project there were objections about different things; one was about the color we were using for the project, for example. For the first time I truly understood how GOD/UNIVERSE operated ~ minus my frustration of course ~ but I kept thinking ‘If you just tell me what color you want I'll make it happen. I don’t care, I want whatever you want, but you have to know what you want.’ You can’t just say ‘I don’t like the red balloons’, well what color balloons do you want?

Days, weeks, months pass and no answer comes.

Well, I can’t read minds people and neither can the Universe/GOD. The universe/GOD will give you exactly what you want every single time…IF you just tell it/him what you want. But if you give a general description then that’s what you get; something fitting that general description.

Another reason your lives are the way they are is because we forget the dreams we put into creation. As time goes by, you forget that last week you wanted something…3 years ago you wanted something else…and when you add the fact that you weren’t specific in the first place, it’s easy to see that when it comes into your life 3 or 4 years down the line you don’t even recognize it. You treat it as some random thing happening to you. Ever see someone wanting a Red car but not saying ‘I want a red car that runs smoothly and is reliable’? Well then they get the red car, but it breaks down every day and they say ‘This isn’t what I wanted!’ Or someone with a spouse; they wanted this person at one point. But now it’s more like ‘This isn’t what I wanted!’ Maybe they forgot to ask for someone who was faithful, or for someone who had the same values as they did.

Did you ever truly know what you wanted? Did you ever write it out, or were you too busy saying

‘I don’t want to be single anymore. I want a spouse!’? ‘I don’t want to be broke anymore; I want to have more money!’

News flash: a penny is more money.

So when the Universe sent you that one penny laying on the floor it fulfilled your wishes. ‘That's not what I meant’ you say. Remember, the Universe/God can’t read minds. You never said how much. So maybe you didn’t know how much you wanted, or even better you didn’t want to decide because if you did, you may not get as much as you could get, right? Well, ‘more money’ is very general, so it may not be quite what you had in mind by the time it gets here.

How about the job that you have? Did you think about describing your coworkers? How about the boss you wanted? Nope, you didn’t…because you don’t really believe you have any control.

The next reason is YOU KEEP CHANGING YOUR MIND. How many times have you changed your mind in the last hour, or the last year? We change our minds all the time, constantly rearranging and changing and readjusting the thought, and so by the time it gets here it's virtually unrecognizable.

This is excerpted from the book “You are already living the life of your dreams” by Ophelia Nicholson.

Bittersweet when bad comes along with the good

In life, there are cycles of good and bad. Times when our lives seem joyful and easy, and times when we're struggling through what seem like endless difficulties. Then there are times when the two seem to co-mingle. These are the times I call bittersweet. Perhaps you've had a bittersweet period in your own life? Usually it begins with something wonderful, followed immediately by something awful. You get a great promotion at work, then your spouse loses his or her job. Or you finally start making progress on your new fitness regime, and you pull a muscle, putting you out of commission for a week or two. A new baby is born into your family, and then a loved one passes away suddenly (or sometimes not so suddenly).

Currently, I find myself in a bittersweet period of my own. My husband and I recently purchased our first home. This has been a dream of ours for years, and we've worked hard to make it happen. Finally the dream came true, and we moved into our new home less than two weeks ago, eager to begin a new phase of our lives.

Then the hammer dropped. In the same week, we received news that two family members have been diagnosed with cancer. My husband's uncle, and my mother (who also just moved into our new home with us).

During the years I'd fantasized about what it would be like to have our dream of homeownership come true, I never expected a dark shadow to be cast over the joy of our new situation. Somehow, I thought it would be smooth sailing once the hard work was done and we achieved our goal.

For the first few days after we received the bad news, I felt somewhat indignant toward the powers that be. Why now? Why couldn't we just enjoy the experience of our new home ownership, and deal with the bad stuff later? Yes, I admit, such thoughts are selfish, not to mention futile. Life doesn't work like that, and the universe doesn't revolve around our wishes. There will always be difficulties to work through, regardless of what else is happening in our lives at the time. We simply have to carry on, because there is nothing else to do. Still, I felt like a petulant child, pouting because pain, fear, and uncertainty had chosen this moment to knock on our door.

A few nights later I was feeling restless, unable to concentrate on anything. I was afraid for my loved ones, worried that the cancer may have spread, wondering what was going to happen. Finally I decided to sort through some still-unpacked boxes to take my mind off my worries. It was late and the house was silent and still when I crept out to the garage. I began quietly sorting through a box of miscellaneous items when a wave of weariness came over me, and I sat down heavily on a folding chair to collect my thoughts. In the grip of despair, I reached out with my heart and mind to the universe, seeking, asking for...something. Comfort? Strength? Reassurance? Guidance? I don't even know what I needed at that moment, I just reached out wordlessly from my soul, hoping to get a response that made everything all right again.

Suddenly my attention was pulled to an item resting just inside the top of the box I had been sorting through. It was the corner of a greeting card I had tossed into the box in the haste of packing. I reached out and pulled on the corner of the card, and as it emerged from the box, I saw that the front of it featured a bouquet of flowers and the words, "thank you". A flood of warmth washed over me then, flowing through every fiber of my being, clearing my mind, lifting my heart, refreshing my spirit. Yes. THANK YOU! That was the answer I had been seeking.

There, in the cool, quiet garage, I finally understood that the dark shadow that had been cast over our lives didn't have to blot out our joy. Do we despair when clouds blot out the brilliance of the sun? No. We simply continue on with our lives, working, playing, laughing, loving. The bitter CAN co-exist with the sweet. I realized that it's a matter of perspective, as are so many things in life. It's true that bitterness has the power to taint sweetness, but it's also true that sweetness can ease the intensity of bitterness. It just depends on which angle you focus on. Thankfully, the universe found a way to remind me that I have a choice, and I began focusing more on gratitude and joy again.

The next morning, my husband and I had some errands to run, and as we drove along a street we've traveled numerous times, I saw a side street that I'd never noticed before. I glanced up at the sign and saw that the street name was "Bittersweet Lane." Honestly, it didn't look like a bad place to live. :-)

Misunderstandings about depression

“ They canceled ‘Wedding Belles.’ Boy, am I depressed.”

“The price of gas is really depressing me.”

“I’m turning 40 next month. What a depressing thought.”

Go ahead and add your own cry of pain to the list, and then stop and ask why, if you are truly clinically depressed, you were watching a TV series as light an frothy as “Wedding Belles”, or driving around trying to save $.02 per gallon, or were even able to think as far ahead as next month.

The words “depressed” and “depression” are undoubtedly two of the most carelessly used in the English language. They are tossed about like bowling pins at a juggling competition, by those who understand very little about depression. Perhaps one reason that the facts about depression are so poorly misunderstood is that those who think they might be suffering from it are afraid of being stigmatized as whiners and complainers. So they neither talk to anyone about depression nor seek treatment for it.

Depression Vs. The Blues

True depression can surface in many ways, and have many underlying factors, but all diagnosed cases of clinical depression have one thing in common--their duration. Depression is not the same as having the blues for a few weeks when a friend moves away or beating up on yourself because someone else got the promotion you were after. It’s perfectly natural, and even healthy, to have negative reactions to those kinds of experiences, but if you can continue on with your daily life and feel good about other things, you are not depressed.

The most significant things about depression is that it lasts for at least three

months, and even if the sufferer is able to overcome one bout, others a certain to occur. Those who are able to talk about depression with a medical professional will find that their emotional paralysis and inability to take any interest in their lives, or even-self loathing, are all classic symptoms and sure indications that they are clinically depressed.

Another thing about depression is that, if left untreated, it can cause the victim’s emotional and even physical health to deteriorate dangerously. Depression normally begins as the”blahs”, when someone may just feel mentally fuzzy and not have much physical energy. At this stage a person who does not know much about depression may thing he or she is coming down with a cold or the flu, or just needs a break for the normal routine. For more info see treatdepressionhelp. com/Symptoms_Of_Depression on Symptoms Of Depression.

Depression May Be Hard To Recognize

If that person’s family or friends also lack information about depression, and especially if the person is normally laid-back, they may not notice much difference until the person has become so withdrawn that it is obvious something is wrong.

If you think you might be becoming clinically depressed, you owe it to yourself to get information about depression as soon as your can.

Timeless marketing truth how to add character to your marketing and bring your message alive

Making a character out of the advertiser brings the message alive. Maxwell Sackheim is most famous for inventing the Book-of-the-Month Club. But before that, he invented some dramatic, and dramatically successful, advertising.

One of his patented techniques was to make a character out of the advertiser, writing ads as if the clients themselves were actually talking. One Sackheim client was Frank E. Davis, "The Gloucester Fisherman". This is how Sackheim wrote for him:

"There is no use trying. I've tried and tried to tell people about my fish, but I wasn't rigged out to be an ad writer and I can't do it. I can close-haul a sail with the best of them. I know how to pick out the best fish of the catch… But I'll never learn the knack of writing an ad that will tell people why my kind of fish—fresh caught, with the deep sea tang still in it—is lots better than the ordinary store kind.

"At least you can taste the difference. So you won't mind, will you, if I ship some of my fish direct to your home? It won't cost you anything unless you feel like keeping it. All I ask is that you try some of my fish at my expense and judge for yourself whether it isn't exactly what you have always wanted."

This copy sold tens of thousands of tubs of fish right across the country. The authentic character of the Gloucester Fisherman brought life, and customers, to the product.

You’re thinking, “Great then, but now? Come on.” Maybe you’ve heard of a couple multi-millionaires named Harry and David? Ever wonder how they got started? Years after Sackheim, a copywriter called G. Lynn Sumner wrote an ad for a pair of pear growers. The ad set off with the headline: "Imagine Harry and Me Advertising Our Pears in Fortune!"

Here's a snippet of Sumner’s copy: "Out here on the ranch we don't pretend to know much about advertising, and maybe we're foolish spending the price of a tractor for this space; but my brother and I got an idea the other night, and we believe you folks who read Fortune are the kind of folks who'd like to know about it. So here's our story..."

Years later again, in the ‘70s, Frank Schulz took a Joe Sugarman seminar. Joe suggested the character formula. Frank wrote a headline: "A Fluke of Nature.” He told of the accidental invention of the “ruby red” grapefruit, and about how picky they are in picking the fruit. The rest is marketing history.

One variation on the character gambit is the open letter. Norman Cousins resigned from The Saturday Review to launch his own World Review Magazine. Showing one heck of a lot of character, he put up $15,711 for three insertions in The New York Times. They were headed, "An Open Letter to the Readers of The New York Times." He told them what was wrong with the journalism of the day and what they’d get from the World Review. That first round of advertising netted Cousins $54,923.00 in subscriptions.

Every viable enterprise has a character behind it somewhere. When you find it, then you know what’s unique about the company—and that’s at least halfway to great advertising!

Creating the right first impression

Many years ago, while on a training course, a lecturer burst into the room in a bad mood.

I sat on a table of six and we all thought it was because of something we'd done the night before - largely because we'd all had a bit too much to drink and had got up to some boyish antics. But that wasn't it.

The bad mood actually had nothing to do with us at all. It had been staged to make a point.

The point being communicated to us on that day was how a first impression counts and how it effects other people.

Why am I telling you this?

A few years ago I discovered that some days I found it easy to get. While on other days I didn't want to get up at all. I then found that the days I wanted to get up were the days when I was doing something I enjoyed or was looking forward to.

Then I found that when I was getting up to do something entertaining I enjoyed the process of getting up. In fact when I had set it up before going to be, I even woke up with a smile - in the same way I do when it's my birthday!

So I made a list of the ten things I love doing first thing in the morning and made sure that the first part of my day involved being with as many of these things as possible.

I love 'sunshine' music like Bill Withers Lovely day, Katrina and the Waves, Walking on Sunshine, Louis Armstrong's What a Wonderful World, the less-known Boo Radleys, Wake up it's a Beautiful Morning and I'm too Sexy for My Shirt, by Right Said Fred. I often play these.

I love running or walking in the cool of the morning just as the sun rises over the Mendip hills and the heat immediately begins to penetrate my skin.

Other things that can set me up for the day are taking a meditative walk in the garden with a hot drink in my hands and taking a slow shower and letting the water tingle over my shoulders.

I also like things that make me laugh in the mornings U tube has become a real plus in this way.

The scene in Anger Management when Jack Nicholson screeches Adam Sandler to a halt and then forces him to 'De-fluster' by singing 'I feel pretty', is a favorite. As the rush hour drivers zipped by shouting insults this clip made me laugh harder than almost any movie scene I can remember. Have a look here

Recently a friend tipped us off on the Laughing yoga, since then he's become a regular at the beginning of my working day. My daughter also loves Guinea pigs fighting over cucumber and this has sent her off to school skipping down the road and laughing.

If I'm feeling political or have a feeling that the world is not all it could be I enjoy a little Endless Love between two political leaders. Click here

So why am I saying all this?

I believe making the right impression is important, but especially important when you make it on yourself. Lots of people want to know how to manifest their hearts desire.

They see these things as a house or a car or a holiday, but when it's all stripped down all any of us want is happiness and love.

We find happiness and love much more readily when we put a smile on our face, feel at peace and can see beauty in other people.

I don't know about you, but I haven't yet been approached by someone offering me my dreams when I'm scowling, but I have been offered some wonderful opportunities when I'm laughing and smiling. Perhaps a laugh is attractive - or attracting.

1. Make a list of at least six things that help you to feel good first thing in the morning.

2. On any day you don't want to get up, allow yourself a few extra minutes to do something you'll really enjoy.

3. Send me your list. I'd love to know what helps you create a good first impression on yourself first thing in the morning!

With Love and good wishes

Neil

Starting over yet again with a home loan mortgage lender

Break ups are a nightmare. You find yourself alone, unsure, and terribly insecure. So how do you deal when love, as promised, does not conquer all? You can cower, sulk, lick your wounds, eat tubs of ice cream, and feel sorry for yourself. Or you can choose to bounce back, start afresh, and live again. The latter sounds more inviting but infinitely more difficult, especially when you see the things and places chockfull of memories of what was once there.

A Change Will Do You Good

Change is what you need. Change could range from hairstyles and interior decorating to careers and zip codes. Yes, the more painful the break up was, the more drastic the change one needs. What better way to escape the happy and the not so happy memories than to pack up your bags and move? A home loan mortgage lender could show you the way.

What’s Stopping You?

Have you always wanted to travel to Europe or Southeast Asia? Have you always wanted to learn fire dancing or kite boarding by the beach? Have you always wanted to buy a house of your own? Now you can finally do these and more. Find a good home loan mortgage lender and you’re well on your way to owning the house of your dreams and decorate it as you please.

There really isn’t anything or anybody stopping you now. And the best thing about it is you don’t even have to put up plaid wallpaper in the den or have a big, ugly recliner in your living room. With a home loan mortgage lender, you’ll have your own house filled up with your own things. Imagine how good that will feel.

The Choice Is Yours

Of course, you’re taking a big step and there will be people trying to deter you from going after your destiny. Remember that you are not escaping in a cowardly fashion. It is merely survival at its very best. Though they probably mean well, you have to remember that you have only yourself to answer to.

You have been bruised, broken, and left alone and because of that, your decisions are yours and yours alone. You can choose the best home loan mortgage lender for yourself, move 5,000 miles away if you wish, and maybe even get a dog. You can do whatever you want as long as you do it right. Just remember to find a home loan mortgage lender first before you get the dog.

Moving Forward

Indeed, life is too short to live in the past of bad memories and broken dreams. The important thing is to keep moving forward with a positive outlook and your spirit intact. Though the past will always be a part of your life, there’s no point in dwelling on it.

You have to let go of who you were in order to become who you are meant to be. Remember that the most significant relationship you will ever have is the one you have with yourself. And if one day you can find somebody who will love the you you love, well, that’s just priceless.

Time management for high school students

High school student are one of the busiest people in the world. This people study, takes classes, join school activities, and socialize. They have a lot of work in school and at home.

Being organized is essential in high school students. If you are a high school student, it may seem like you never have enough time to finish all your work in a day. You may feel that you are always running out of time and all you do is study and never get enough time with your friends and family.

You often wish that there should be more time in one day to enable you to finish all your work with extra time to hang out with your family and friends and start again tomorrow.

However, everything you need to accomplish in one day is possible if you are organized and plan everything you do in a day.

Here are some tips for you to follow to make high school life easier and have extra time for you are your friends and family:

Set goals everyday – Before you sleep, list down all the things you want to accomplish on the next day. This will help you to know what you are going to do and avoid doing unimportant tasks. With a “to do” list, you will get everything done more efficiently and faster.

Prioritize your list of goals – After you made your “to do” list, try to prioritize the goals you want to achieve. Put your most important goal in life on top of your priority and your least important goals to down below on the list.

It is also important that you should be realistic on your list, try to base your list on what you need to achieve and not on what you want to achieve. If you have a long-term priority, it is probably best that you put it on the bottom of your list; you can always work on that tomorrow.

Use your spare time – You may not notice it but you have lots of spare time as a high school student. Try to add up the minutes of the school bus ride to school and the school bus ride back home.

You can use these times to study and do your homework. By doing this, you will get an idea on what you need to do on your homework when you get home. This allows you to finish your homework faster and have extra time for other things.

Working student – If you are a high school student and have a part time job, you can use your rest periods to do your homework or study. It is also ok to say no if your boss asks you to work on a school night and you have an important exam the next day. Tell him or her that you have to study for the exam.

Remember, work is not your number one priority as of now, it is only a part time job and the most important thing for a high school student is studying and passing the exams.

Finding the right time – Students have the “right time” to study. Students have specific time to study more efficiently. For example, you solved your math problems well on afternoons; do not wait until nighttime to it, then. When your mood shifts immediately start solving math problems as much as you can before you lose interest.

Taking notes – Writing down important notes is an effective way to study. It is much better than just plain reading. Writing down notes has an effect on your mind. You can understand the topic more effectively and memorize it more effectively than by just reading.

It is also important that you review your notes as your teacher might give a pop quiz on the next day. Reviewing your notes will help you be more prepared for the pop quizzes that your teacher may suddenly give.

Get enough sleep – Trying to stress yourself out studying when you are supposed to be sleeping can bring ineffective results and unwelcome health problems.

If you need to sleep you have to sleep, do not force yourself to study if you cannot effectively study. If you try to study in this situation, you will most likely waste your time.

Keep your goals realistic – Trying to accomplish unrealistic goals can often result in failure and frustration.

Set goals that is difficult but achievable. Setting realistic goals that is difficult and achieving it can give you self-worth and be proud on your achievements.
